I’m Gary Graham, founder of Cookie Dough Digital — and the short version is this: I’ve spent my entire life learning how to solve problems, connect dots, and build things that actually work. Whether it was in a kitchen, behind a desk, or under the hood of a digital project, I’ve always had one question in mind: How can this be better?
I grew up about 100 miles north of New York City, in the Hudson Valley, raised by a single mother who taught me the value of curiosity, hard work, and asking the right questions — even when the answers were uncomfortable. Whether I was flipping through TIME Magazine in a waiting room or challenging my teachers in the classroom, I developed a deep respect for how things worked and an even deeper urge to improve them.
That mindset stuck with me when I traded books for chef’s knives, launching a career in the restaurant industry. From prep cook to the opening team of a semi-fine dining restaurant — and eventually falling in love with the art and science of barbecue — I learned the real-world value of precision, timing, and leading from the front. Kitchens are fast, chaotic, and unrelenting — the perfect training ground for managing people, pressure, and process.
In 2014, I left the kitchen and stepped into the digital world, starting from the ground floor with data entry at Jester Communications in Bluffton, South Carolina. I had no formal tech background, but I applied the same principles that got me through the restaurant world: learn fast, stay curious, and take ownership. That drive led me to web development, client management, Agile workflows, and eventually helping small businesses manage their social presence, and most recently, mastering the art of chatbot conversational marketing. Cookie Dough Digital was born from that experience — an understanding that small businesses don’t need more buzzwords, they need clear solutions, reliable partners, and someone who cares about their success as much as they do.
I’m still addicted to solving problems (it’s my favorite bad habit) and proud to call Bluffton home, where I live with my wife and daughter. Whether you need a website, a digital marketing plan, or someone to help untangle a messy project, Cookie Dough Digital is here to help you get it done — the right way.
